Some businesses experience difficulties participating in public works projects because they require certifications, specialized capabilities, access to capital, and relationships with primes among other things.

Conduct Business Health Assessments (BHA's); provide training workshops on marketing, operations, strategic planning, finance, accounting, etc.; identify local contracting opportunities; assist with obtaining licenses, certification, and financing as needed; compile financial projections; facilitate teaming relationships among primes, subcontractors, and independent contractors; provide on-going pre- and post-bid assistance.

Offer analysis of business credit and provide steps for becoming more appealing to lenders.

Evaluate HR practices and procedures for recruiting and onboarding talent, employee retention, and workforce development.

Perform comprehensive evaluations of the IT infrastructure for operations and scalability.

Assist companies with legal paperwork and other institutional requirements, including insurance, bonding, and special equipment as needed with government entities and prime contractors.

Review RFP’s, bids, and proposals for feasibility, completeness, syntax, and grammar and making edits, accordingly.

Support companies through the complexities of the RFP/Bid/Proposal process, including support with written proposals and relationship management.

Facilitate relationships between companies, government entities, and prime contractors as appropriate, helping to develop partnership arrangements.

Review existing project opportunities and match companies with prime contractors and government entities for upcoming projects.

Develop sales & marketing materials for companies catered to successfully winning bids.

Facilitate connections to business expertise (e.g., accounting, legal, etc.).

Assist with bookkeeping and accounting necessary to obtain financing.

Prepare federal, state and city taxes.

Analyze and assist companies with obtaining the appropriate financing (grants/equity/loans), as well as assist with strategies to finance receivables/reduce payment times.

Facilitate entity formation amongst companies (JVs/M&A/etc.) to better prepare them to secure public works contracts.

Aid companies with meeting bonding and insurance requirements.

Work with companies to help them obtain certifications (e.g., DBE, MBE, etc.).
